Upon delivery, my box had some damage to the outer corners of the packaging and the external Amazon brown paper shipper envelope was torn open, so maybe the seller could pack it a little better, but I didn’t see any damage to the actual device. As for the item itself, I was impressed with how solid the metal backing (mat) was, as well as how weighted and secure the base was! I’m not sure why I expected lighter, thinner metal for the stand—or even a bit more plastic—but it’s a solid metal stand all the way through. The ball joint threading on the back is plastic, but pretty much everything else is metal. Important to note: it is not a solid magnet straight across. There are magnetized portions on both the left and right sides of the backing to secure your iPad (not down the middle on this version), which means if you purchase the wrong size or it’s not made for your model/generation iPad, it won’t hold it as securely as the models for which it is designed! Next, I noticed a rubberized or silicone mat secured onto the face of the magnetic backing to protect your iPad from getting scratched but it also helps secure the connection and grip your iPad (anti-slip). The most noteworthy and noticeable features that I was both surprised and impressed by: no gaps in the seal (the iPad consistently connects to the magnetic backing as well as the rubberized/silicone mat), the magnet is fairly strong (but only on the left and right edges), the base is weighted for balance (with the addition of suction cups for extra security), the joints that allow you to adjust the height and angle of your iPad, as well as swivel it 180° or spin it 360°, are very secure. The instructions suggest that you place the stand at the desirable angle before you attach the ball joint and your iPad. You don’t want to constantly move the joints and loosen the threading because they’re very secure as they are. You can move them when you need to, but you’ll want to keep that to a minimum. Out of the box, you don’t have to worry about the joints falling out of alignment as the more cheaply made stands tend to do. As for charging, if you need to charge your iPad while on the stand, the USB-C connection plugs into the port on the back of the iPad mat and iPad models with the correct chip can charge “wirelessly” using the magnetic iPad smart connection port on the mat (M2, M3, M4 chips). The image on the box reflects nine magnetic contact points but on this version, I believe there are only six (three on each side, none in the middle). All in all, I love it and am really impressed with the design and quality.

Didnt work make sure your iPad Pro is at least gen 3
So I got this based on the title saying it charges m1,m2,3&4! It didn’t show me all the pics where it says 3rd generation only well I have the second so this does t work for me at all. I can say for the cost I wish it was more clear on this in the title. Also seems to only work for 12.9 inch. So make sure you have at least a iPad Pro gen 3 or newer no m1 or anything like that. I will say also I would expect a charging cable to be included with this all that’s included in the box is the stand which is strange for a charger. It’s heavy and looks nice you can rotate it easily, it also has suction cups on the button to help it stay in place.I just wish it actually worked pretty sad. I have the a2013
