FABULOUS
Tried EVERY CHEAP ONE I could find. Too small, too hard, too short, too stiff, uncomfortable to sleep in were my mantras. This Hair Edit Curler was the opposite!! It’s the perfect size, comfortable to sleep in, and makes the BEST CURLS. Worth every EXTRA PENNY. Save the trips to return the junkie ones & get this one!

Pretty curls, but too bouncy for me
I tried this curling method for the first time, following instructions on the box and videos online. It helps to have a claw clip to keep it secure on your hand in the beginning. It took me a few tries as it was my first time trying this technique. I don’t style my hair often but it was easy enough to get the hang of it after a couple tries. I like that it comes with scrunchies to secure your ends, which worked well and didn’t crimp my hair. The ribbons is soft and has enough length to accommodate fairly long hair. I have chest length hair and there was still plenty of space left to keep winding hair.I left the curling ribbon in overnight. It was pretty comfortable to sleep on since its so soft and squishy. The ties don’t really do much for me, but luckily I don’t move around a ton in my sleep. I used this with 95% dry straight hair and wound up with well defined very bouncy curls. It turned out curlier than I expected and was definitely too bouncy for my taste at first. It relaxed into something a bit better after lots of brushing and pulling, but still not as relaxed as I would have liked. Next time, I may experiment with wrapping my hair more loosely. Overall, didn’t produce the results I wanted, but may be perfect depending on your curl preferences. I will keep trying a few times to experiment and see if I can make it work for me.

Long enough and easy to wear to bed!
I’ve had several of this style of heatless curling rods. However, all of them were silk, very thick, and had a hard wire inside of them. The wire poked out of them, making them unusable (or rather unsafe), so I got this to try.I was initially intrigued as photos in the listing shows it can be tied on top of your head to sleep in (which is how I prefer to wear it) I also though the velour might grip better to my hair. Most nights when I slept in a silk one, my medium to fine hair would slide right out. The length of the products is great, I have long-ish hair (hits mid back) and this was perfect for me.I feel like I should add, I am a LOW maintenance girly. I don’t really enjoy hair/makeup and I am pretty much a one trick pony and do the same thing everyday, however I also like to look *half way* decent, so I’ve always liked the idea of heatless curlers, but never had really great success with them. I feel like 1 out of every 10 times I had it down, but it was a fail every other time. I fully expected that to be the case with this one.However I was pleasantly surprised with the results! After a shower/hair wash, I let my hair dry about 80-90 percent. I put my hair in this. I did redo it once (user error on my part) just to get it tighter so it would stay throughout the night. I tied off the ends with the scrunchies and tied it on top of my head. The first thing I noticed – THIS THING DOES NOT HURT! The ones with the wire give me a headache pretty quickly, but this was super comfortable. I went to bed and found I could sleep on my side! I never could do this with the other variety. When I woke up , I pretty much looked the same as the night before- the hair stayed in place, and didnt pop out.I will say taking this out is not a simple as grabbing the rod from the top of your head and shaking it like the silk ones, you kind of have to individually unwrap each section of hair, as the hair grips to the velour. I am ok with this, as it didn’t take long, and it stayed in ALL night (and I am rough sleeper, so that is quite the feat!)My hair was a bit frizzy on top (but it always is) I’m going to pair this with my silk bonnet next time and I think that will help. But after I took it out it relaxed a bit, I did find I could wear it out, without having any extra help from an actual curling iron- which i was NEVER able to achieve with the silk wired style ones.It comes with a little drawstring bag too, which is nice to keep it stored away when not in use, or for travel.All in all I am very happy with this product, and will not be going back to the wired ones!

Wet hair or straight hair
I so badly want this to work. I have tried lots of products like this and I just can’t seem to get anything heatless to make lasting curls. This ribbon is fairly easy to put on. It takes a little bit of practice to figure out how to feed in the sections of hair a little at a time. This is comfy to sleep in. The ribbon is the perfect length to wrap around the head and tie a small knot without having a bunch of leftover tie. It stays in place pretty well through the night. If you did a good job wrapping your hair, then the hair stays put on the roller. Otherwise, in the morning all of your hair will be unrolled and things look really uneven. If I put this in when my hair is just a little damp I wake up with my hair still wet. If I put this in when my hair is dry then my hair doesn’t curl at all. If I put it in with barely damp hair and leave it in for 16 hours, then I have beautiful curls–but that isn’t really practical. I can also use a blow dryer to dry the hair a little while the ribbon is in and that works, but it kind of defeats the point of “heatless curls.”

Minimal effort, minimal hair damage, BIG BEAUTIFUL results
The absolute best way to achieve beautiful curls with minimal effort and minimal damage. I spent a few minutes researching how best to use heat less curl ribbons and followed the tips such as – starting at the top of your hair and wrapping tightly in small sections. Bigger sections for looser curls. My hair doesn’t hold a curl with irons- but it does with this! Gorgeous curls that look like I spent all morning on them, while really i spent five minutes wrapping my hair in the ribbon curler and took it out in the parking lot at work. I appreciate how soft the curler itself is as well as cushioned for sleep. This is a high quality piece as i use it every night for the past few weeks with no signs of wear or tear.
