Lights up my life.
This lamp is adorable. I got it for my desk at work, and it’s exactly what I was looking for – small, cute, warm, and cozy, and most importantly, looks insanely more expensive than it actually is.Let’s start with the negative. The thing everyone’s talking about – the DIY shade. The lamp comes packaged beautifully, like a piece of art, but there’s a lot of McGyvering to do. The shade comes inside out, folding into itself. You need to get all the little folds of the shade onto the frame, and then carefully, flip the shade inside out. The whole thing is unintuitive, and admittedly, my shade is a little wonky in a spot I had to turn to the back.The pros though, definitely outweigh this wonky shade issue. The lamp looks high end, it looks Restoration Hardware. The base is solid, heavy (in the way expensive things just feel heavier), a nice creamy bisque color. The shade, once assembled, is the real chefs kiss here. Don’t be fooled by the paper inside, the outside (once flipped over), is a beautiful textured linen. It’s perfectly proportioned to the base. It allows the lamp to emit a soft, warm glow. Almost zen-like. And the pleated shade leaves a beautiful pleated shadow. The cord is a fabric cord, not a cheap plastic, with an on off switch. I wish it had a dimmer.This is mood lighting. This is not for reading books or finishing your needlepoint. It gives jazz club and romance. I’m in love.

way over-priced for size and ease of installing of shade
The body and light of this little lamp are great. But the directions for the shade are very obscure and not well explained at all. I wrestled with it, re-read directions, wrestled with it again, re=read directions numerous times, and ended up with a very bent-up shade. So it looks a little wonky. I am a writer and and former English teacher and I could not figure their directions for the shade. If they would have said something like the little notches at one end of the shade hook over the top ring of the bulb frame, I might have figured it out easier. I think the lamp is unique in having the shade hang off the ring, and now that I have it figured out, I understand the idea, and it is cool. But I do think the lamp is overpriced, as it is pretty small, and only good for a small desk lamp. I like it, but not sure if I like it well enough to use it – especially with the damaged shade.

Cute, small lamp with warm light. Unclear directions for shade installation
This is an adorable little lamp that puts out a warm, appealing light, perfect for creating a nice ambiance for any space. I struggled to understand how to install the lamp shade (the directions were not very clear for this part, but to be fair it is hard to explain in words). Thankfully other reviews were helpful. I have attached pictures of how to get started in my review, as well as a video to help.Basically the shade arrives inside out already, but leave it like this! After setting up the base and attaching the white wire frame to the round base, you put the shade INTO the INSIDE of the white wire frame with the holes and cuts facing outside and up against the top most wire. Then, pop/secure the shade holes into the wire all the way around. The last step is to flip the shade inside out. My video should help.The pleats on the lamp shade are a pretty touch. Where the seam lines up, the pleat shape is not the same as the rest of the lamp, but I put that part toward the wall so it’s not visible when the light is on.When assembled, it is absolutely adorable. The warm light is lovely, and it is small enough to go just about anywhere. Even the wiring is pretty and it has a nice switch on the wire itself to turn on and off. The wire is plenty long for us to reach pretty much any outlet. Great lamp.

Cozy Aesthetic!
I really dig the cozy warm aesthetic this lamp provides; it’s currently sitting on top of my headboard. The LED is quite bright from under the shade though, so I may find another location for it since it’s over my head.The instructions were kind of confusing with a lack of diagrams for what it’s talking about, so I attached a photo of what it means when it’s talking about inserting the slotted parts of the shade. After they’re all inserted, you fold it over and it’s suddenly magic!Since I’m not familiar with LED bulb types, I took a picture of the bulb + the manual which lists the spec of it, so that I can always come back to refer to the photo should I ever need a replacement or just in case a shopper is curious of what bulb this uses.If I were to make one improvement to this lamp, then I would suggest maybe placing the switch a little further away from the actual lamp. I feel like the way it is set up, it’s not too much different from having to get close to the lamp anyway to turn it off. This limits the aesthetic options you have unless you are using another remote switch somewhere, and leaving the lamp switch permanently on. For me, I’d like to have been able to dangle the switch off to the side of my headboard so that I don’t have to reach upwards and get blinded by the light.

Little lamp, BIG style and warmth
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous little lamp! I love.The ceramic base is beautiful. Such nice texture and weight add a beautiful organic element to any space. It’s especially lovely on a desk or side table. The shade is also exquisite.I was nervous about putting the shade together, as you have to clip it around a ring that holds it in place. I was worried that the creases would be unevenly distributed, but that was not a problem. As you see, it lays seamlessly around the lamp.The tone of the shade is so warm and inviting. It really will soften any room, even if you have harsh, cold lighting. It’s the ideal ambient lamp!
